We heard a few days ago that Apple provides offered Proview a settlement within their iPad trademark case in China, and after this it would appear that the offer designed to Proview has been rejected.

In accordance with a recent report, Apple have offered Proview a settlement which is worth close to $16 million for the legal rights to the iPad hallmark in China, but it looks like Proview has didn’t accept it.

Proview are usually apparently looking for a greater settlement, which is considered to be in the region of $400 million, this could help Proview pay of its creditors and also the financial institutions as the company is throughout financial trouble.

Whether Apple will end up making payment on the $400 million remains to appear, it is quite a bit lower than the $2 billion that Proview wanted in their past lawsuit, and certainly a lot more that then $50,000 plus that Apple mackintosh paid for the Proview brand from the company.

When Apple released iOS 5 it came with a new feature, signal, and now it looks this way is something Apple promises to add to their iCloud website as well.

The guys from MacRumors discovered a test notification on Apple’s iCloud website, which you’ll see in the picture below, it would appear that this isn’t being tested just about everywhere as it did not look when I just soaked into my iCloud bank account.

There is no official word from Apple up to now on this new characteristic on their iCloud website, when we get some more data we will let you folks know. We’ll also update you on the upcoming macbook pro 2012 as soon as we have received some new information.

Apple has right now released a new revise for its OS By Lion operating systems to address the safety issue and FileVault insect, that in certain conditions made users brands and passwords for sale in text files.

Apple recommends that all Operating system X Lion users update to 10.7.4, which includes a number of general operating system corrects improving stability, if it is compatible, and security of the Macbook pro 2012 system.

Problems fixed in the fresh update include:

- Resolve an issue in which the “Reopen windows when logging back in” setting is always enabled.
- Improve compatibility with certain British third-party USB keyboards.
- Addresses permission issues that may be caused if you use the Get Info inspector function “Apply to enclosed items…” on your home directory. For more information, see this article.
- Improve Internet sharing of PPPoE connections.
- Improve using a proxy auto-configuration (PAC) file.
- Address an issue that may prevent files from being saved to an SMB server.
- Improve printing to an SMB print queue.
- Improve performance when connecting to a WebDAV server.
- Enable automatic login for NIS accounts.
- Include RAW image compatibility for additional digital cameras.
- Improve the reliability of binding and logging into Active Directory accounts.
- The OS X Lion v10.7.4 Update includes Safari 5.1.6, which contains stability improvements.

I was given a task by AsusPH to build a cheapo computer worth (50php) around $1000+ as part of my last challenge as a contestant in ASUS Philippines Race to Computex where i can win a trip to Taiwan, and be part of the Computex Convention. Anyway, I decided to create a computer build that is cheaper yet with identical features as with the new iMac – built for gamers, multimedia purposes, and for other computing needs. My first thought was just to buy an Asus EEPC, a LED Monitor, an Xbox 360, and PS3 but i have to abide with the rules and use their mock up pricelist. Anyway, here are the parts that i selected and so far so good i was able to build an i5 PC with a medium-hardcore graphics card, and lots of goodies. Check it out!

Reuters has reported that Apple is in talks with movie streaming service EPIX, for they are looking to secure a deal that will allow their company to stream EPIX content on their Apple TV set top box and also the rumored Apple TV set.

“Apple, which now sells a $99 set-top box that hooks up to a television set and lets users stream online content from Netflix and the MLB channel, opened discussions with three-year-old EPIX, created by Lions Gate Entertainment Corp, MGM and Viacom’s Paramount Pictures.

One of the sources told Reuters that any discussions would apply to its set-top box and also to upcoming devices that stream content.”

According to the report, the settlement between the two companies are in the early stages, so it could be a while before we see the EPIX content arrive on Apple TV devices.

Barnes & Noble has made a deal with Microsoft, where Microsoft will invest $300 million in a new joint venture between the two companies. Barnes & Noble recently announced that they have now a subsidiary of B&N which will include its Nook business and also its educational College business. The new company will get a $300 million investment from Microsoft for a 17.6 percent share in the company, wherein these values the new company at $1.7 billion.

“The new subsidiary, referred to in this release as Newco, will bring together the digital and College businesses of Barnes & Noble. Microsoft will make a $300 million investment in Newco at a post-money valuation of $1.7 billion in exchange for an approximately 17.6% equity stake. Barnes & Noble will own approximately 82.4% of the new subsidiary, which will have an ongoing relationship with the company’s retail stores. Barnes & Noble has not yet decided on the name of Newco.”

Intel has pulled the wraps off its new Ivy Bridge processors AKA the third generation Core CPUs with Z77 chipsets. Now, it is time to dig deeper with the motherboards that will be supporting these processors, and one of them is the is the Maximus V GENE from ASUS.

Apple and Samsung seems to be rivals as they have engaged in a number of different court cases around the World. Each company is accusing the other of infringing on their patents, one of the cases is in the US, and now it seems that the 2 companies will be meeting up next month to discuss a possible settlement. Hopefully this is true. By the way, the judge in the latest case in the US ruled that the 2 companies should hold discussions, and this has now been scheduled for the 21st and 22and of May. Apple’s and Samsung’s CEOs will meet up on the said dates in a San Francisco courthouse to probably settle this once and for all.

Apple already started selling their tickets for the WWDC 2012 earlier this week, and we have received reports that the tickets were sold out in under two hours, and many developers missed out on them because Apple started selling them at 5.30 AM Pacific time. This would mean that a lot of developers who lived in the West Coast, will miss the WWDC, and considering there is a large developer community there, they may have decided to hold their own alternative to WWDC, Indie Dev Lab. The Indie Dev Lab will happen on June 12th to 14th of June just a few blocks away from where Apple holds its WWDC in San Francisco.

Angry Birds is a highly addictive game for iOS and Android. Now, it has been made to be mroe addictive with the release of an update to Angry Birds Space, which will give us 10 more levels. These 10 new levels are going to be challenging enough and with orbiting pigs in space. There are also 20 free eagles for iOS users and will be providing an additional eagle a day just for iOS users. Cool huh? I am not sure if the Android version will get the same special perks.
