CoPilot has had paid versions of its navigation applications available on both Apple’s iOS system and Google’s Android podium for a while now, along with the company behind the actual apps, ALK Technolgies has just declared a free version in the app for both programs.

Then app is available to download totally free, and with that you get totally free maps to one land, you can purchase additional road directions and if you want to make use of turn by flip navigation this will cost you an additional fee, with all the voice guided course-plotting retailing for £19.99 and if you want to incorporate live traffic info this will cost you £9.Ninety nine.

We have been hearing a rumor for a while that Apple intends to replace Google Maps in a future version of its iOS software, and now according to a recent report Apple may drop Google Maps in iOS 6.

The new comes from the guys over at 9 to 5 Mac who have apparently been told that Apple will use their own in house maps in iOS 6 instead of the current Google Maps.

The new Apple offering is rumored to be similar to Google Maps, but is apparently faster cleaner and provides a more reliable experience, it will be interesting to see what Apple’s own mapping software is like.

When Apple released iOS 5 it came with a new feature, signal, and now it looks this way is something Apple promises to add to their iCloud website as well.

The guys from MacRumors discovered a test notification on Apple’s iCloud website, which you’ll see in the picture below, it would appear that this isn’t being tested just about everywhere as it did not look when I just soaked into my iCloud bank account.

There is no official word from Apple up to now on this new characteristic on their iCloud website, when we get some more data we will let you folks know. We’ll also update you on the upcoming macbook pro 2012 as soon as we have received some new information.

Apple launched the Mac App Store way back in January of 2011, and today according to a recent report, the Mac App Store has now a total of 10,000 apps, although this has yet to be confirmed by Apple. The information came from 2 different third party sources who have estimated the total number of apps in the Mac App Store. According to MacGeneration there are now more than 10,000 apps available to download in the Mac App Store. The guys over at MacRumors have estimated that there are around 10,334 applications available to download from the Mac App Store.

Apple acquired Chomp and we knew for the fact that it was was just a matter of time before this App would be removed from Android. Today, it has happened as it is not available anymore for Android users. This Chomp service was created by a team in San Francisco and could be found in both the Android Market and as the service powering Verizon’s Android app store. It is indeed an awesome search service that people liked and in February, Apple acquired the company, maybe because they want to implement the technology to the iTunes App Store.

Finally, the Twitter update for iOS and Android have finally rolled out which will bring enhancements to discover, search & notifications within the app. It now has this search facility within the application which is simpler to use, and it will now suggest spellings and related terms. This will provide a faster way to find exactly the people or what you are looking for. Other features include Push notifications, and a discover tab.

“Activity is a stream of updates that shows which Tweets are favorited or retweeted by the people you follow and which accounts those people follow or add to lists. Activity appears below the redesigned stories in Discover. Now you can tap any story once to see Tweets about a particular trend or news article. Angry Birds is a highly addictive game for iOS and Android. Now, it has been made to be mroe addictive with the release of an update to Angry Birds Space, which will give us 10 more levels. These 10 new levels are going to be challenging enough and with orbiting pigs in space. There are also 20 free eagles for iOS users and will be providing an additional eagle a day just for iOS users. Cool huh? I am not sure if the Android version will get the same special perks.

Apple released their new cloud service way back in October of 2011 along with the launch of the new iPhone 4S. Today, Apple has revealed how many people are using iCloud. Apple announced that iCloud now has more that 125 million users. The number of iCloud users rocketed with an increase of 25 million users in a span of 2 months. It is quite a feat and we suspect that there will be more users to come. I have been using the service as well, and it is quite more interesting to see some improvementsthis year.g
